NTF University of Ljubljana

The University of Ljubljana is a renowned institution known for its high-quality degree programmes in the social sciences, natural sciences and engineering. The Faculty of Natural Sciences and Engineering (NTF UL) offer comprehensive Bachelor's, Master's and PhD programmes that are closely aligned with current scientific and industrial developments. The faculty is heavily involved in national and international research projects and collaborations and has produced significant scientific publications and artistic exhibitions. It emphasises student engagement through workshops, projects and collaborations that enhance employability and practical skills. The Faculty aims to be a leader in interdisciplinary education and research by 2027, advancing knowledge and innovation in a sustainable and responsible way.

The Chair of Textile and Fashion Design is one of the three chairs of the Department of Textiles, Graphic Arts and Design at NTF UL.

Based on the experience gained over the last 30 years in undergraduate and postgraduate education in the field of textile and clothing design, as well as the cooperation with foreign universities, especially those belonging to the CUMULUS network, a new study concept has been developed based on four parallel study verticals: a core vertical that includes the parallel study of textile and clothing design, an artistic expression vertical, a technological vertical that helps in the realisation of design ideas, and a support vertical that includes the necessary knowledge and skills in computer-aided design, knowledge of the history of textile and clothing design, marketing and management.
