Module ME | Virtual prototyping and Digital Printing

With this module, students will gain skills, knowledge, and competencies within virtual prototyping through a 2-week course. The student will be introduced to the 3D software programme CLO3D with a focus on using it for: means of sketching, testing, developing shapes, colour palettes, material, and print.

Focus:
Sustainability: Minimizing waste in toils and print using digital prototyping and digital print of patterns.

Inclusion: Possibility of showcasing ideas and adjusting to liking

Diversity: Possibility of customized avatars, measuring each other

Length: 2 weeks/8 teaching days, out of the 9 weeks course module.

Content:
1. Introducing students to CLO3D

2. Building a bridge from the previous introduction course to pattern making and development through the same exercises, just now digitally

3. Developing own design based on block patterns, showing original and developed patterns in CLO3D.

4. Working with print patterns, colours, and textures

5. Digital textiles print on their own design in half-size

6. Talk on previous use of mannequins in communicating ideas as pandoras, half-sizes, Théâtre de la Mode

7. Sew samples and exhibit

8. Reflection and survey – bridge building to future use and course modules
