Apron Design by Uzi

Willem de Kooning Academie
Module: Me, WP2

The designer aspired to recreate an afro "euphoric" feeling with this apron. A raw reference to the original garment twisted in a way that is suited for a Western society. For a woman from the Himba tribe who would emigrate to a West European country and still want to represent her roots in a way that still respects but also challenges the Western standards on nudity.

The apron is made of leather, hair, and beats and laser engraved.
